1/2/17 The Golden Cross (Hay Lane)
8/2/17 The Flying Standard (Trinity Street)

As always, drop me a line or call me on the mobile if you are not sure.

Venue update

Hello! Hope you had a lovely crafty Christmas.

The venue for the next meeting (4th Jan) will be the Windmill pub in Spon St. Parking is available at the Skydome, or there is limited on street parking on Spon St. I won't be able to make it as I'm in the Netherlands for work.

IMPORTANT: xmas dates and venue change

Hello!

Yes, we are still meeting - next week we're at Drapers Bar (aka Browns) for our annual xmas meal and then our next meeting is Jan 4th 2017.

HOWEVER it appears that the Whitefriars pub has been repossessed, so we are now debating a new venue on facebook. So far it's either the Windmill (Spon St) or the Spon Gate (Skydome). I hope we have a new home soon. I shall miss the WF, even the not-great toilets! :(

Merry Christmas to all, and here's to a knitty and crochety New Year!

FO: Handkerchief hem skirt

DSCN2428 I spent a good chunk of last week knitting this on my machine, it drapes beautifully. I hope to debut it on Wednesday at the club. I also knitted two shawls which might become a poncho or another skirt, I haven't decided yet... I've been doing a lot of dressmaking lately as carpal tunnel has scuppered my handknitting :(

FO: Lucy cardigan

DSCN2300

After spending over 4 hours fringing this, I finished this on Thursday night, would've worn it earlier but it wasn't dry. The yarn (Patons wool blend aran) was rather rough when knitted, but softened up a treat. My new favourite cardigan. Literally had just enough to finish the fringe, and luckily I accidentally bought an extra ball of the wine coloured yarn because I needed it.

FO: Autumn Sweater

DSCN2290

This was knitted at T7 on the midgauge knitting machine, King Cole Twist Aran, a yarn I picked up at the NEC in 2015 (suspect it might be discontinued). Garter stitch bands and lace hearts worked by hand on the machine. I need to either get a garter bar, or knit that bit by hand next time. It was very tedious! There are bits where the yarn was less marled and more a plain colour, hence single colour stripes, which was a bit annoying. I have quite a bit of this left to knit up. Debating whether to add fringe to the hem and neck - it was the original plan, but perhaps it's too much?
