Innocent Hats!

Innocent Drinks with hats! Photo reproduced with permission from Innocent Drinks

A non-kniting friend pointed this out as a laugh, but it could be a
great way of using up tiny oddments in your stash...

Innocent Drinks require knitters to make teeny tiny hats as part of their Supergran project.

"For those of you unfamiliar with the concept of Supergran, it's a bit like this: we knit lots of little woolly hats, stick them on the bottles and then sell them in the shops. For every behatted bottle sold, 50p goes towards helping keep older people warm this winter, via the good people at Age Concern."

This year the aim is to knit 175,000 hats, topping last year's 96,000.The knitting pattern and all other details are available on the Innocent website and this year the Supergran bottles are going to be available in Sainsbury's and EAT cafes.

I think it sounds like a good project to try. I'm sure all of us can manage a hat or two in the next few weeks. Innocent are providing us with some bobbles for the top of the hats. It'll be fun seeing what different results we get with different yarns!
